Annie Jacobs-Perkins
Praised for “hypnotic lyricism, causing listeners to forget where they were for a moment” (The New Yorker), Annie Jacobs-Perkins is principal cellist of the Phoenix Chamber Orchestra and cellist of the Callisto Piano Trio, the youngest group ever to medal in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. She has performed at venues such as the Library of Congress, Het Concertgebouw, Jordan Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Ravinia Steans Institute.
Annie was a 2021 artist-in-residence for NPR’s Performance Today and winner of the New England Conservatory’s 2019 Concerto Competition. She has performed as soloist with the Burbank Philharmonic, Penfield Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes. In 2015 she appeared on NPR’s “From the Top.”
Annie was a 2018 Outstanding Graduate and Trustee Scholar of USC’s Thornton School of Music (BM) and the recipient of the Laurence Lesser Presidential Scholarship from NEC (MM ‘20, GD ‘21). Annie’s teachers include Troels Svane, Laurence Lesser, Ralph Kirshbaum, Kathleen Murphy Kemp, Guy Fishman, and David Geringas.
Anna Maimine
Anna Maimine was born in Moscow, Russia, where she started studying piano at age four with Natalya Dolenko at the Gnessin School for Children. At age twelve Anna came to Rochester where she continued her studies at the Eastman School with Gary Fisher, Alla Kuznetsov, Natalya Antonova, Nelita True, and Douglas Humpherys.
Anna graduated from the Eastman Community Music School with an Honors Diploma in Piano and a Certificate of Merit. During those years, she was a prize winner of the SUNY-Geneseo Young Artist Competition, the Junior All-Star MTA Piano Competition, and the Arco and Fortissimo Chamber Music Competition. Most recently Anna garnered prizes at the Moulin d’Ande Annual Concerto Competition in France, the Annual 1,000 Islands International Young Artist Competition, the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition, the Empire State Piano Competition, and performed Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto as the winner of the Eastman Concerto Competition. She was also a National Finalist at the 2011 MTNA Young Artist Competition.
Anna has performed at multiple venues throughout New York state including Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. She performed the inaugural concert for Classical Pianists of the Future series at the Tri-Cities Opera House in Binghamton, NY. Further engagements included performances as part of the Second Sunday series at the Phelps Mansion and the Guest Artist Piano Series at the Kilmer Mansion also in Binghamton. An active collaborator, Anna premiered an award-winning chamber music composition through the Rochester Chamber Music Society and performed as part of the Music for a Summer’s Eve series at Hobart & William Smith College.
Anna completed all of her collegiate studies at the Eastman School of Music where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree under the tutelage of Douglas Humpherys. She maintains an active career as a solo and chamber music performer collaborating regularly with soloists from the Greater Rochester area. Anna joined the Buffalo State faculty in 2009 where she teaches piano lessons, keyboard classes, and serves as an accompanist.
Dylan Kennedy
Violinist, Dylan Kennedy is the founder and director of the Keuka Lake Music Festival. A 2021 graduate of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and the first ever recipient of three Entrepreneurial Musicianship awards from the New England Conservatory, Kennedy has established himself as a promising arts leader among his generation. As a performer, he has been praised for his “exceptionally well crafted dynamics and phrasing” and for “not shying away from the challenges” (Sarasota Harold Tribune).
Kennedy has appeared as soloist with the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Penfield Symphony Orchestra, Hochstein Alumni Orchestra, Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra, and at Bowling Green State University. Kennedy has won the Albright Award at the Rochester Philharmonic League Young Artist Competition, the David Hochstein Recital Competition, and gave live performances on the radio show ‘Live from Hochstein’ on WXXI in three consecutive years. He was also awarded 3rd prize in the Lewisville Lake Symphony International String Competition, and was a quarter-finalist in the Prague Spring International Competition.
As concertmaster, Kennedy has led the NEC Chamber Orchestra, Moritzburg Festival Orchestra in Germany, CIM Orchestra, and Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and served as Principal 2nd Violin of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. A dedicated chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as Jerome Lowenthal, Joseph Silverstein, Martin Chalifour, and Peter Lloyd, and has been a guest artist with the Boston Chamber Music Society. He has attended and performed at several summer music festivals, including the Sarasota Music Festival, National Arts Centre of Ottawa Young Artists’ Program, Music Academy of the West, and the Meadowmount School of Music.
Kennedy received a Master of Music from New England Conservatory under Professor Ayano Ninomiya, and Bachelor of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Professor Ivan Zenaty, with minors in Economics and Business Management from Case Western Reserve University. A native of Rochester, NY, he previously studied with the late Distinguished Kilbourn Professor, Zvi Zeitlin, at the Eastman School of Music.
David Steinhardt
David Steinhardt is the youngest guitarist to place first at the Hamilton International and Great Lakes Collegiate Guitar Competition. A sought after performer, David has concertized across the US, Canada, and Europe in venues including Carnegie/Wigmore Hall and festivals including Hamilton, Montreal, and Ullapool International Guitar Festivals. Concerto highlights include his debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 17 and the Los Angeles debut of Steve Goss’ Concerto of Colours with the USC Wind Ensemble. On the radio, David has performed for NPR’s From the Top, WXXI’s Backstage Pass, and Classical KUSC's Sunday’s Live.
As a podcaster, David is host and producer of The Tonebase Classical Guitar Podcast. David has interviewed renowned guitarists including Pepe Romero, Judicaël Perroy, Scott Tennant, Eliot Fisk, and Ben Verdery.
David graduated with honors from USC Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of William Kanengiser and Pepe Romero. He currently studies at the Yale School of Music with Benjamin Verdery. As a teacher, David has taught masterclasses/workshops for Guitar Hamilton, Guitar San Antonio, and Interlochen Arts Academy. David currently plays a Paco Santiago Marin guitar.
